Nanutarra to Port Hedland

Nanutarra Roadhouse was a bit chaotic as a lot of renovation was going on. I had booked a single room in a section mainly inhabited by tradies. They like to get up early and be on their way to their next job: breakfast available for them at 6.00 am.

I was having  trouble getting onto the internet, when I received help from a nice young man on the staff. I had heard him speaking Spanish to his girlfriend, so I said a few words to him in Espanol and he was amazed! They were from Argentina and had never heard of the Camino de Santiago. Anyway, he demonstrated how I could get online with data from my Telstra account, which was new to me. There was also a machine for pre-pay fuel, which was confusing every body and people were getting annoyed, but he calmly sorted it out.

Nanutarra is just across the Ashburton River, so I took a walk across the old bridge at sunset:

It was very cold early in the morning so I set off before breakfast, planning to stop later when the sun had warmed everything up.

Then, I wanted to find accommodation in Karratha, but there was not a bed to be had in this town! The only thing was to keep driving another 200 kms to Port Hedland where I am now.
