The Real Alcazar, “home to the Spanish kings for almost seven centuries, is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Set in a huge paradise garden, it is a celebration of Mudejar architecture.” That’s what my guidebook says. As it’s only 2 minutes walk from my hotel, I was able to get there early, but crowds were already assembling:
Entry is via the Lion Gate.
To think I walked up the same staircase as Philip II.
